Hello my name is Aisling McMullan and I am a schools intern, based in North Down and Newtownards.

My highlight of the month would be doing a prayer space in St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church for Clandeboye Primary School. This was an opportunity for children to learn how to pray in creative ways, as part of the RE curriculum for schools. We were able to teach around 350 children how to pray anytime, anywhere and about anything. The prayer space was based around the Lord’s Prayer with different stations to encourage the children to say sorry and forgive, write down their worries, to be still and also to reflect on their friends, family and the world.

This was an amazing week, filled with so many stories and opportunities to work alongside an amazing bunch of volunteers, Clandeboye Primary and also St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.

Sarah first became involved with SUNI through serving as a Camps and Missions volunteer in the summer of 2012. After graduating from Stranmillis University College in 2016, Sarah took a year out as an SUNI intern based in County Fermanagh. Since then she has been working as a primary school teacher. She is excited to get back to sharing the Bible with children and young people in her local area.

Sarah lives at home on her family farm in Ballygawley. Recently her main hobby has been wedding planning but when she finds the time she loves to sing, play piano and trombone, take her dog Toby for walks and visit an array of coffee shops. She can’t wait to get started in her new role as the E3 worker in Omagh and Castlederg and would love you to pray for her as she starts this new role in an exciting new E3 area.

Could this be you? Or someone you know?

My highlight of the month has been taking the talk at Camphill Primary Schools P3 to P5 Carol service at Wellington PCI.

In was really fun to take a Christmas talk for the first time and really help get me in the Christmas mood. The Whole service was brilliant; with the different classes singing carols and Christmas songs, their senior Choir and Orchestra (which included some P6 and P7s) and Bible readings from some of the pupils.

Rachel Sheppard and I finished the service by talking about the true meaning of Christmas, how Jesus is the best gift we could ever receive and how he can offer us love, peace and friendship.
