Volunteers’ Information

Thank you for considering to volunteer with SUNI.

Here’s a little more information on what we do with the information you give us….

Camps & Missions Volunteers

What information do we collect from you?

In applying as an SUNI Camps & Missions Volunteer we will ask you to complete an online application form. This form will ask for general information such as your name, address and contact telephone number. It will also ask you what church you attend, any medical conditions and for two emergency contacts.

As you are applying to be a volunteer at our camps or missions you will be asked questions regarding the team. What age group you would like to work with? Your availability and type of activities you would like to be part of.  You will also be asked to supply details of people who can give you a reference.

Why do we collect this information?

We collect this information for several reasons. As a Camps & Missions volunteer it’s important that we are able to contact you. Team Leaders will need to send you details about the team before it begins. Each year we organise training and an end of summer thanksgiving event for our volunteers and so we need to contact you with details of these events. It is important that team leaders are aware of any medical conditions that could effect you during your time on the team and who to contact if there is an emergency.

Who might we share your information with?

We do not share your information with anyone outside SUNI. Camps & Mission staff will see your whole application. Team leaders do not see references, however, we do have a small group of Approvers who reviews each application.

What do we do with your information?

For insurance reasons your application is securely archived once your team is over.

If you have agreed to it on the application form your name, address and email address will be saved to our general database and you will be sent regular information about Scripture Union Northern Ireland.

To change your details or unsubscribe to any list at any time please visit www.suni.co.uk/updateme

How long do we keep hold of your information?

For insurance reasons archived applications will be securely kept for 50 years.
