Hello and welcome to the 2013 intern blog!

Over the last few days Marcus and myself have been getting to grips with everything that will be involved in the year ahead. There have been plenty of meetings, and a lot of information, but it has been great fun. This week has been particularly exciting and Monday was spent watching two of our very own E3 Schools Workers, Phil and Mark, deliver a training day for TOM (Team on Mission) in Belfast. Marcus and I also had our first experience of an SU staff meeting, which, as we soon found out, is not nearly as intimidating as it sounds. It was brilliant to hear Kathryn Harte and the rest of the SU staff tell stories about the various camps and missions that they were involved in over the summer. It was also amazing to think about all the different people who have given up weeks of their summer to volunteer with Scripture Union and the blessing it has been.

This was certainly an encouragement to Marcus and myself for the incoming year and your prayers would be so much appreciated as we prepare to go into schools and SU groups telling children the good news about Jesus. If you are at all interested in finding out exactly what we will be doing this year please keep following our blog and we will try to keep you updated. This year in Portballintrae CSSM our theme was Jesus is Better and, as our internship starts, I cannot think of a more inspiring message to bring to young people across the country that Jesus truly is better!

Paul.
