Making Your Mark is our annual pupil leadership training event where we aim to bring together Senior School pupils from across Northern Ireland, to ground them in Bible teaching, give them space to share and glean ideas for their local context, learn from one another and be inspired and equipped for the year ahead. There are seminars focusing on ‘life issues’ as well as ‘SU issues’ e.g. running a Junior SU or how to give a talk. We include small groups to allow them to get to know others from different schools. We hope this a place to show the young people the bigger family of SU they are connected with.
Inters SU is the name given to our local inter-schools events headed up by our E3 schools workers. We believe it is important that pupils realise they aren’t alone and can ‘do SU together’ no matter the scale or how regularly they meet. The frequency and format of Inters differs from District to District, but the aim (to meet, share with and encourage others from our locality) is always the same.
SHINE is a free 3 week resource aimed at Secondary Schools. It is a partnership project with SUNI, Crown Jesus Ministries, LMI, SU Scotland and SU England & Wales. It’s aim is to equip pupils to live for God at school and to allow pupils to explore the Christian faith for themselves. For all info, head to shineinschools.com or why not check out this video.
Shine Kids is an initiative of Scripture Union Northern Ireland and Crown Jesus Ministries which is designed to encourage children from primary school SU groups around Northern Ireland to ‘shine for Jesus’ in some way in their schools. Why not use this programme to kickstart your SU group for Term 2.
Schools are vital parts of our society and we believe that each one of us can play an important role in the lives of children, young people, parents and staff members who make up their communities. This conference is designed to inform, equip and inspire you to play your part whether you’re part of a Church community, a parent at the school gates or a member of staff in a school.
