I’m a school principal
What information do you hold?
We hold contact details for principals in Northern Ireland (name, address, phone number, email, school name). This is obtained from the public domain (e.g. education authority websites).
Why do you need this information?
Each year we contact special school principals to offer to come to take assemblies and RE lessons. Sometimes our E3 workers will approach the principals of schools in their area about taking assemblies and RE lessons. We do this on the basis of legitimate interest, knowing that most principals appreciate hearing of opportunities which may enrich school life for their pupils. In contacting you in this way, we have made sure to consider and balance any potential impact on you (both positive and negative), and your rights under data protection laws. However, our legitimate interests do not automatically override your interests and you always have the right to object to us processing your data in this way. If you would prefer SUNI not to get in touch with you then you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time by emailing, phoning (028 9045 4806) or by writing to us (Data Team, SUNI, 157 Albertbridge Road, BELFAST, BT5 4PS).
Who do you share my information with and how do you keep it secure?
Your personal information is held securely on the Filemaker database on our secure, encrypted server and is only accessed by relevant, passworded staff as necessary. We sometimes use MailChimp to send emails in which case your name and email address will be uploaded via their website. (For more information on Filemaker and Mailchimp see our Third Parties section)
For how long do you retain my data?
We will keep your data for as long as we think you are a school principal. You can ask us to stop mailing you at any time.
