I’m on an SUNI Committee (e.g. ExCo, DST)
What information do you hold about me?
As a committee member, you will have given us your name, address, email address and phone numbers. You will also have signed up to the Aims, Beliefs and Working principles of SU and the Statement of Ethos of SUNI if you have not already done so in another capacity
Why do you need this information?
We need this information in order to keep in touch with you about committee meetings and events. Committee members shape and guide the work of Scripture Union, so we need to ensure that you are fully aligned with the ethos and purposes of the movement, and we will also send you relevant mailings to keep you well informed about the work of SUNI.
Who do you share my information with and how is it kept secure?
Your personal information is held securely on the Filemaker database on our secure, encrypted server and is only accessed by relevant, passworded staff as necessary. We use MailChimp to send out regular mailings: your name and email address are uploaded via their website each time we send out a prayer update. Email groups will be created for each committee, so other committee members will be able to get in touch with you as well. You may also choose to join a WhatsApp or similar group relating to the committee. (For more information on Filemaker, Mailchimp and WhatsApp see our Third parties section). Relevant staff may hold basic contact details on their passworded, encrypted laptops or on their phones. Signed declarations and statements are kept in a locked filing cabinet. They will also be scanned and held on our secure, encrypted server where only passworded staff with data responsibilities can access these records.
For how long do you retain my data?
As a committee member, your data will be held on Filemaker for as long as you serve on the committee. On stepping down from the committee you will be asked if you wish to continue to receive mailings from SUNI as a prayer supporter. You can withdraw your consent for mailings at any time, and if you no longer wish to hear from us you can ask us to delete your record from the database.
