Local Schools Project

SUNI’s Schools Project is a localised form of Schools’ Ministry, where a 'Schools Worker’, backed up by local volunteers and churches, works over a set district. Our Schools Project has three main aims.

ENGAGING with schools pupils in Biblically–based assemblies, RE lessons and in SU Groups, giving them appropriate opportunities and resources to explore who Jesus is for themselves so that they can make an informed decision about Jesus and His truth.

EQUIPPING Christian teachers and pupils by giving them support and encouragement to facilitate growth in Christian maturity and to encourage them to be salt and light in their schools.

EMPOWERING churches to be present in local schools and build long lasting relationships with wider school communities through spiritual, pastoral and practical support.

All Schools Projects should be completely financed by donations from local churches, groups and individuals. In order to ensure long term financial security for the project we aim to raise £33,000 in each district each year.

At the moment, our Schools Project is operational in 10 areas across Northern Ireland. Longer term, it is our desire to have Schools Workers all across the country!
